The Competition

The Heritage has a fine reputation for competitive golf with a strong competitive spirit in both the men’s and women’s events; this competitive spirit is even more apparent in Pennant and Inter Club competitions.

Every Wednesday and Saturday we field a large competition; with separate contests running concurrently from both courses off a variety of tees; ensuring there is always a competition available to suit golfers of all levels.

Thursdays, one course is always reserved for our ladies competition, which also has a strong field of entrants. On Sundays there is always one course available for competition for either men, women or mixed, while the other is available for members social play.

The Heritage is very proud of the success achieved by its Pennants teams. From their early inception in 2000 the Heritage Pennant teams have risen very quickly through the divisions. In 2008 the men’s Pennant Team playing in 2nd Division were narrowly beaten in the final and have now moved up to 1st Division. The Colts Pennant Team won the Pennant for 2008 and moved up to 1st Division as well. This is one of the quickest progressions of any Club in the Victorian Pennant league.

The Ladies Pennant Teams have also done well during the year with the Division 7 team winning the Pennant for the year and moving up to Division 6 and the Division 10 team runners up for the year and also moving up to Division 9.

The competitive strength of the Heritage teams is directly attributed to the excellent practice facilities; the variety that two diverse courses (Links and Parkland style) provide and the coaching standard of our two highly regarded internationally experienced Golf Professionals.

Luke Bleumink one of our young members is the Ivo Whitten Event winner for 2008 and 2009. Three of our very young members have also done well winning three out of the 4 age grades at the PGA Junior Golf - Star Challenge State Final.
